The AY Family: Hello Little Boy (2 yrs 2 month)

It's sad these last few months were left untouched. This age has so many little changes I couldn't possibly tell you about them all. Amongst all of these little adjustments, our baby boy has become a more understanding and thus an independent child. Since we last visited each other, Silas has turned two years old. It was a small ordeal since he doesn't quite care about themes yet nor does he have his group of little friends. He also probably would not have been able to stay awake for the entire party anyway. We made him a tie dye cake and he jumped on the trampoline with some of the neighborhood boys until he finally just passed out.

12:10am January 1st 2015. Officially 2 years old

This post will probably be mostly pictures, since again, the list of subtle changes are too numerous to count. If I swept them into groups I would say they have contributed to him enjoying and perpetuating a bed time routine. He also was sleeping more independently of us and needing his own space so we started supporting him staying in his little mattress at the end of our bed. He now sleeps there every night and stays there through out most of the night. I still nurse him once or twice in the night. However, another big change is I don't have to nurse him to sleep. When I see he is very drowsy, I quietly whisper " let go of mommy" and he says in a whisper "ok", rolls over and falls asleep. We still use a diaper at night just in case, but its only wet every once in a while. So diapers are almost nonexistent for Si at this point. Emotionally he can articulate how he feels much better now as well as understand others emotions to some extent. Intellectually, he has begun to build with blocks rather than destroy everything. He likes to point out shapes and objects and tell us about disney movies he watches like the lion king and how Simba goes back to save everyone.
