Thank you daycare for starting our summer out right by giving our child his first experience with a virus! No...seriously...you are contributing to his immune system...but seriously....snotty babies are not happy babies. This happy little boy is as stuffy as they come in this picture. Except for the first day of low grade fever, Silas maintained a generally happy demeanor. We had some looonngg nights mind you. But I'm proud of him. I just nursed him twice as often, we cleaned out that little nose with an aspirator and periodically dosed with Tylenol as needed.

He has also begun teething. So as we exit the virus we enter drooling and all of the pleasantries that come with bones pushing through your gums. ouch! We got him Hyland's teething tablets (homeopathic tablets that really do help!), teething toys you keep in the fridge and a GREAT little net that holds fruit, keeps it cold that he can suck and naw on. He thinks it is amazing.

Our friends Veronica and Santiago both got into PhD programs in Colorado and are moving in two weeks. So we decided to visit Johnson City TN and hang out with all of our grad school friends for the weekend. Silas again enjoyed his hotel stay despite his lingering first cold.

Naked as the day he was born, we threw a sun hat on him ( of course LOTS of sunscreen) and took him in the now warm lake water. He splashed around the entire time, soaking his face, LOVING it. Afterwards, he ate and took a quick power nap on the boat.
We had a great time and Despite Silas being out a little later than he is accustomed to, he had a great time too! And slept great that night from all of his fun in the sun. We hope everyone is having a great summer and stay tuned...
