Andrew installed a few more wooden blinds in the house! Slowly but surely this house will be very pleasant to move around in. Lighting seriously makes all the difference. Floors are next!

This has become the norm for Mondays and Wednesdays when I have a late class. I come home to my boys asleep around 5pm. Well...at least the little boy. Andrew is usually relaxing. Baby naps are a perfect time to take a forced breather from the day.
We went up to Boone to visit our friends and to go snowboarding. Andrew went with his buddy Caleb and had a blast. Si and I hung out with Caleb's wife, Amber and their two girls, who are 3 and 5 years old. Every time we go up there we remember how much we love the mountains.
Charlotte tends to be much warmer than anywhere else we have lived. So we take advantage and go to the park often. Silas loves it. We bring his little soccer ball and let him run around the soccer field. Although he usually tries to play with other people's footballs and soccer balls. He also likes the swing and going down the slides (with assistance!). Once he gets his crazies out, we plop him in the stroller and go on a little run or I strap him on my back and Andrew plays some disc golf. If it isn't nice out, we take Si to the YMCA pool (indoor obviously!). He is always smiling in the water, learning what it feels like to float and negotiate in the water and sleeps like the dead afterwards!
Si and Dallis ( the little girl he stays with during the day) are SO adorable!! Dallis went from calling Silas "Di Di" to "Shi Shi". They love playing with each other. I came back over the other day to pick up some stuff I had left and Dallis proceeded to unzip and remove Silas's jacket so he could stay and play.
Silas has become more interested in looking at books and hearing stories. He will pick a book for me to read to him or look through. He also continues to love music and will stop to dance any moment he is given. PLEASE excuse how bad our house looks in this video. Like I said, new floors are next and that room the record player is in is the last to be painted. Yes that is a baby pool with kitty litter. The cats love it and keeps litter boxes out of the rest of our house. No judgment please! ;).
Oh yeah...I guess I should mention I tried to make breast milk yogurt since I filled the freezer again. It didn't really pan out. Human milk isn't really fatty enough to get the consistency we are used to. After 12 hours of incubating this is the best I got.
That top layer is the thick part of the yogurt. Oh well. It was worth a shot. Yes, I am a complete hippy at this point when it comes to parenting. And yes, this means I am still breastfeeding. It has been a very helpful tool in helping Silas adjust and handle new concepts, pain, frustration etc.
Until next time...
