2 months old!

Our beautiful baby is officially 2 months old! In two months we have had a total of 5 nights where he has slept 5 hours or more....oh boy. It's really sad that we consider this extremely exciting. Mind you these nights are almost never in a row. What's lost you ask when months of disjointed sleep occur? Short term memory and....oh yea...attention span...had to think about it. Honestly, though, breastfeeding makes the middle of the night feeding as inoffensive as it can get. I feel for parents and baby alike that have to get up and warm a bottle.

By the way, Silas is most happy on the changing table when his diaper is off! All three of the above pictures were taken in this condition. He either loves having his little boy parts free to breath or thinks he finally has mom and dad's attention whole heartedly...along with that mirror which is just the coolest.

We went to visit my dad and Yvonne on Sunday and they discovered this same anomaly! He also had a pretty good time laying on a blanket watching the fan go round and round. All while chatting and trying to kick his onesie off. Yvonne rocked the little one right to sleep after all of that kicking and peeing.

He had a good time all around and got to end the trip with mommy walking him around a disc golf course while Andrew threw a quick 9 holes! =)...It was a pretty day, who can blame him.

I see a future mohawk

Oh! I promised I would post all of his newborn pics so everyone could download them if they want. So here they are!

Travelin' Baby!

I know this is the WRONG way to have him strapped in and I promise to
all the mommies this won't happen in the future!
Only a batman onesie and a fine pair of boots could carry this kid to Virginia! We took Silas on his first long road trip ( 3.5hrs) to Smith Mountain Lake and Salem to see the rest of his family now that he's such a big boy. He did ok with this trip, but we learned Silas's stimulation max was far exceeded with all of the people and change in environment this go round. He was held by at least 15 different people and was at two different houses plus in the car WAY more than he's used to.

Despite our little boy getting stressed, it was a good trip and we had a great time seeing everyone.

I some how missed taking pictures at the lake, but Silas got lots of time with his Nana and Grandpa Young. He also got to try out a new portable swing Nancy's co workers bought her for the little guy!! Andrew wants an adult size version.

Silas has also been making his way to Cornelius NC and seeing his family there on a regular basis. More pictures to come soon of his adventures there. He gets to visit them this Sunday!

We love that Silas is so adored by everyone! He hasn't started any crazy antics yet so I get to just talk about how sweet and perfect he is right now. Mostly this early in his life is us learning how to read this little man and vice versa. Having only raised puppies and kittens, it is amazing how smart and dynamic the relationship is with our baby. It is also amazing how much like a little man cub he is right now. Understanding the fine line between how basic he needs are and how complex his development is, is a real dance. Its such an awesome experience.

5 weeks...6 weeks...goes the baby

We went to our one month check up and Silas is now 10lb 10oz!! He also measured 22 inches so that is 1 1/2 inches since he was born. The innards and outards of the boy all checked out so we have maintained a healthy baby boy thus far.

Naked baby!!!!!

they weigh the same
We've started running with Silas! The stroller has been awesome and he seems to love it. We just turn on Pandora on our phones, throw it in the cup holder and cruise with him in these new amazing running shoes!!
The circus
Andrew leaned in to kiss Silas and he latched on to his nose and started audibly sucking. I guess he was hungry! Silas is better at communicating these days without going strait to crying. He coos in different ways depending on his moods.
He has been so attentive and alert recently that we bought him a play mat. We figured the changing pad by the mirror on the dresser wasn't enough after a while. Although he does love watching himself and us in the mirror.
And when he's done with play time... he does this...

My 6 week check up went great and I am back to my fighting weight. Breast feeding is a diet I recommend to anyone interested.
